College / Worship Lead / Christmas Service

She is the quintessential artist, 
mastering the arts of drawing, drama, speech, vocals, musician, acting, etc...
She has a remarkable gift, and is testing her abilities on multiple fronts.
While trying to finish her A.A. through Superior Community College, 
she was recently hired as the Interim Worship Lead at our home church.
Faithbridge Church is in transition with our leadership team.

The Lead Pastor position has been vacant for nearly 3 years, and 
we are nearing it's position being filled. The Worship Coordinator (Aaron Bradt), 
will be stepping down at the end of the month to follow God's Lead outside the vocation
of Faithbridge.  We are both grieving and grateful for the Bradt family. 
Aaron picked up the baton from Anna years ago and has advanced the Worship Team
into next generation viability... He brought another level of excellence
 both to the competency of musicians and the tech support.
Tori will be the Interim Coordinator (a position that was founded by her mother
a couple decades ago = Anna started contemporary worship @ Faithbridge).
appreciate your prayers as she fills some pretty large shoes.
... and again pray for the Bradts as they navigate the season of transition ahead.

Holiday Sabbatical

Are you a Snowbird? or maybe coming into a different season in your life? Do you have exercise equipment around that feels lonely? I may be able to assist you. I am looking for a treadmill, stationary bike, etc to baby sit this winter. Please contact Phil or Anna, if you would like us to keep the dust off your equipment this winter... seriously I am looking for some equipment, if it is not too  old and you wouldn't mind me putting some miles on it through the off season - I would be obliged. Actually: I'm trying to put together a health plan (rather than a sick plan) and getting my cardio back on track is a major part of that. Let me know if you have any interest... 🏃‍♂️🚵‍♂️

I'm Doctoring in Duluth Wisconsin / Fargo North Dakota weekly. 
Specialist are working on my neck & trying to

Give me a Reset over the Holidays.

Part of the Prayer for Healing - is Phil establishing some new patterns of 

diet / exercise / rest & work.

New X-Rays

Reveal that the source of Phil's 

Chronic Migraines/Neck problems are

#bonespurs from past injuries,

plus arthritis type of damage,

and added pressure on nerves etc...

Basically he has a 65 year old neck.

praying for healing...

It has taken 3 years to close in on a diagnoses

Degenerative neck issues...

In hindsight, Phil can pinpoint 4 or 5 incidents 

That have aged his neck. Though dismissed & forgotten,

 these incidents over the years, 

have taken their toll.

I guess he's blessed To still be alive... 

The accumulative effect has been been disheartening to say the least...

 I had no idea the damage that I was doing to myself ~ Phil

* Football History helmet-to-helmet hits

* Downhill ski/snowboard fails

* Head-On Car collision 

by someone under the influence

* Shallow Swimming/Diving Accident

Having his bell rang all those times...

"I'm not as invincible as I once thought."

I'm pondering about the accumulative effects

Of my sin nature/pattern... 

it too has rung my bell,

And I am not as invincible as I think.

...but by the grace of God - Go - I...

THE STRUGGLE IS REAL

So... often we only see 

the polished best versions of our life,

As though filtered through the ideal.

Truth is. Life is Hard, and

there are multiple fronts that we Battle

almost on a daily basis.

a Pool full of Sweat Tea? Now that would be tasty,

or it is a Pool full of  Rusty Water - I GIVE UP!!!

For me (Phil) Physically= I've been set back

For nearly 3 years now.

I have a pretty high pain threshold, 

but I've come to the end of myself weekly.

I've been doctoring Chronic Migraines 

from one experiment after another, 

still there is no end in sight.

Emotionally, Spiritually, Psychologically =

I CONFESS relationships / expectations /

entitlement / pride / lust are weekly wars.

Though I find incredible victory in Jesus,

The battle leaves me wounded & scarred.

Don't misread me, I'm NOT hopeless, 

But in seasons of weariness

 I long for Sabbath/Rest/Eternal Home

AND SO, IM TESTED...

And the test comes down to, 

Do I believe, do I trust that 

God has my good in mind,

Even when life is really really really hard?

Ugh, the work is daunting, 

like prepping for winter.

When we feel like we are living in 

the biblical persona of Job, 

the test and temptation is

to second guess God...

May I / May we say & trust

"That he gives & takes away,

Blessed be the name of the Lord"

Though we don't understand 

God's purposes in the test,

I'm resolved to Trust Him,

Knowing His ways are best.

"though He Slay me, 

yet will I Trust in Him,

(Hope in) Him," ~ Job 13:15

and I (Phil) wish not to defend my ways before him...

It would be a wonderful dream come true for me to not only teach in the Holy Land, but to travel there with friends/family and experience the latest in archaeological finds and traditional historical sites together.  The fellowship, the awe and wonder, the illumination of God's Word brought forth in its original context and the evening chats over dinner are really a taste of Heaven here on earth.  It's quite incredible. ~ Chris Campbell ~
