It is amazing to travel abroad and witness the diversity within cultures. Senegal for example has a wide variety of traditions and systems that are finding its own niche in the global world. The Capitol of Dakar although behind the Civility of it's European colonization (France) has held it's own compared to the rest of West Africa. It is a relatively stable society, boasting the only nation that has not had a coup, or formidable take over in its government - since France pulled out decades ago. Power Plants ran largely by imported Diesel is the main power source for it's cities and towns. Running Water, Septic Systems, and Paved Roads are becoming a mainstay in major towns,
but the rural townships, and country villages still remain frozen in time.
Taxi's are the main source of Transportation
Though Taxi service is everywhere - the Bus and Horse Cart remain in business
Fresh Water is a BIG DEAL; Drill It, Well It, Just DON'T DRINK IT...
