Senegal RECONNAISSANCE

A Light in the Darkness

Anna, Anika, & I are less than two months away from our next African Departure: Senegal
though we continue to work with our new friends in Uganda we are turning our attention to Senegal
Uganda & Senegal Flags

So a little Recon. Mission is in order.
Senegal is the western most  tip of the on the Continent of Africa.
It is named after it's name sake, the "Senegal River"
established from the Wolof term "Sunuu Gall" which means "Our Boat"

Goats & Boats

Geographically speaking, we see that the country is split in two by a river, (with the independent Nation of Gambia & it's river betwixt), as well as the Atlantic Ocean as it's natural western boarder.
Although it is a Monitored Nation (as was Uganda) with regards to it's status under the Persecuted Church - I have been impressed as it remains a semi-peaceful nation, not Restricted or Hostile, like its neighbors to the North and East.  Reports from our missionaries on the ground have been good with regards to the receptivity of the the Gospel among the Moderate Islamic fold...

We are really looking forward to discovering new cultures, customs, and commonalities.
There is a unique assignment on this adventure unlike the other that we will explain later.
As for now I'm soaking in the ambiance of Senegal.
It's creatures, and landscapes will be a bonus to observe as well...

"Baobab -Tree of Life"

Hoping to see some unique wildlife in our up-n-coming trip...

As for now we covet your prayers as we prepare for what lies ahead.
that God would give us His Favor in travel, in learning, in speaking,
and encouraging our brothers and sisters who are heavily & heavenly invested in the field...

Praying for a Peaceful ELECTION in Uganda

Praying for a Peaceful Election in Uganda this coming week.
Many of our New Friends have shared the horrors of Elections Past,
when riots & revelry have become the norm, as politics and pole positions remain divisive.

For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness,
PEACE, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Because anyone who serves Christ in this way
is pleasing to God, and receives human approval.
Let us therefore make every effort to do what
Leads to PEACE and mutual edification.
(Romans 14:17-19)
